About YPFP London : Young Professionals in Foreign Policy (YPFP) is one of the largest global networks for emerging professionals in foreign policy and diplomacy, with over 20,000 members across 80 countries. YPFP London is one of its regional branches, aiming to create an inclusive platform that accelerates career opportunities and broadens access to the foreign policy and diplomacy sectors in the UK.

What is the 2024-25 YPFP London Student Ambassador Programme?
YPFP London is looking to select 3-6 Student Ambassadors to support its Events and Communications Teams. Ambassadors will also have the opportunity to write and publish foreign policy analyses under the guidance of experienced researchers, including those with backgrounds at the UN and leading academic institutions.

Why Join the Student Ambassador Programme?
- Develop Valuable Skills: By choosing either the Communications or Events stream, you’ll gain hands-on experience in presentation and/or project management—skills that are essential for success in foreign policy and diplomacy.
- Access to Mentorship and Workshops: As part of the programme, you’ll be guaranteed a spot in our Mentorship Programme and skills-building workshops, with support from seasoned foreign policy professionals, including those with experience in the G7/G20 Youth Summits and COP events.
- Collaborate with Professionals: You’ll work closely with young professionals who have real-world experience in foreign policy and diplomacy, gaining first-hand insights into the field.
- Fast-track Opportunity: Outstanding ambassadors may be fast-tracked to join the full YPFP London Team in the following application cycle.
- Conduct Research and Publish: You’ll have the chance to conduct foreign policy research and publish articles under the mentorship of experienced researchers, including those from the UN and Peking University Yenching Scholars—valuable additions to your CV or postgraduate applications.
- High Level of Autonomy: As part of our inaugural Student Ambassador Programme, you’ll have significant autonomy to shape your role, influence team dynamics, and contribute to the planning of future YPFP London events.

Responsibilities
- Act as Liaison: Serve as the main point of contact between YPFP and your university community.
- Support the Events Team: Help plan and deliver both online and in-person events.
- Support the Communications Team: Create engaging content for social media and newsletters aimed at students and young professionals, including articles, event summaries, and testimonials.
- Recruit New Members: Encourage your peers to join YPFP, helping to grow and diversify our community of young professionals interested in foreign policy.
- Provide Feedback: Collect feedback from your university peers about their interests, preferred event formats, and challenges they face in accessing the foreign policy industry.

Qualifications
Candidates must have a proven interest in politics, international affairs, or foreign policy and be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree at a UK university.
