PARTIALLY FUNDED TO CROATIA: Apply for the Young Leadership Programme Mediterranean 2025 for young professionals
The upcoming edition of the Young Leadership Programme – Mediterranean (YLPMED) will take place in Croatia from May 5 to 9, 2025. This initiative is specifically tailored for university students and early-career professionals such as practitioners, entrepreneurs, conservation advocates, environmentalists, and individuals working in governmental or non-governmental organizations. Participants are expected to have professional ties to Mediterranean forests or forestry and may also have expertise in related fields like communication, anthropology, journalism, or political science.
A total of 17 young professionals, aged approximately between 25 and 35 years, will be selected to join the programme. Preference will be given to candidates from Southeastern Europe or those actively engaged in the Mediterranean region. The programme is open to those working in academic research (e.g., doctoral students), public policy (e.g., government employees), or practical roles in forestry or associated sectors.
To apply, interested candidates must submit a motivation letter outlining their professional focus on forest management and adaptation to climate change, their reasons for joining the programme, and how participation will contribute to their career growth. Alongside this, a CV and a recommendation letter from an employer, academic supervisor, or someone familiar with their leadership potential are also required.
The programme will be conducted in English, and all application materials must be provided in English. Submissions should be sent via email to ylpmed@efi.int no later than December 15, 2024.
Eligibility criteria include being a young professional (typically within five years of graduation), currently working in academia, public service, or forestry-related fields. Candidates must demonstrate leadership through activities such as involvement in relevant organizations, local community initiatives, or environmental advocacy. Applicants from Southeastern Europe will be prioritized.
