Applications are now open for the Social Innovator Hub (SIH) Incubation Program 2025, organized by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

This unique initiative brings together talented individuals from Japan and developing nations to tackle critical social challenges through innovative business solutions. The two-month hybrid program, held both online and on-site in Sendai City, Japan, combines collaboration with Japanese startups, academic institutions, and leading researchers at Tohoku University, a global leader in science and technology. Participants will work on developing practical solutions by leveraging Japan’s cutting-edge technologies and expertise, culminating in a pitch session where they will present their ideas to potential investors, accelerators, and startups.

This program seeks individuals who are passionate about addressing social challenges through business innovation. Ideal candidates are expected to have actionable business ideas that utilize insights and advanced technologies from participating startups and laboratories to create impactful solutions. Participants should be prepared to continue their engagement beyond the program to implement these solutions in their home countries.

The program will run from February 10 to March 28, 2025, with online sessions beginning from February 10 and in-person sessions hosted in Sendai City, Japan, starting March 3. Travel expenses, accommodations, and training fees are covered for participants residing in partner countries (Indonesia, Mongolia, Nigeria, and Peru). However, personal expenses such as domestic transportation, passports, and personal devices are the responsibility of the participants.

Applicants must reside in the partner countries or Japan and have sufficient English proficiency to actively participate in discussions and project activities. A valid passport must be obtained by the end of January, and applicants will undergo language and eligibility screening during the selection process.
