Fully Funded : Apply for the Climate Mobility Fellowship (CMF) 2025–2026
The Global Centre for Climate Mobility (GCCM) is pleased to announce the opening of applications for the Climate Mobility Fellowship (CMF), the first initiative of the Climate Mobility Academy (CMA). This year-long fellowship is aimed at empowering young leaders from Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean, and the Pacific with the skills, networks, and expertise necessary to develop impactful solutions in the emerging field of climate mobility.
The CMF seeks to provide youth leaders with essential academic training, exposure to international climate mobility policies, and hands-on project experience. This program will support 12 young leaders from diverse regions, including four from Pacific Small Island Developing States (SIDS). Fellows will deepen their understanding of climate mobility governance, policy, and research while actively participating in global policy processes.
Location: In-Person & Virtual
Duration: 12 Months (June 2025 - May 2026)
The fellowship focuses on four key areas:
- Formal Learning through In-Residence & Virtual Remote Training:
Fellows will participate in two training phases: an immersive two-week in-person program designed to build academic knowledge and policy frameworks, followed by a virtual program that enhances practical skills in advocacy, communications, project development, and planning. - Hands-on Learning through GCCM Programs:
Fellows will gain practical experience by working within ongoing GCCM projects, contributing to policy research, data analysis, regional programming, strategic communications, and public advocacy, offering continuous opportunities to grow their expertise in climate mobility. - Participation in Global Policy Processes:
Fellows will engage with major global policy events such as the UN Oceans Conference, Berlin Climate Mobility Forum, UN High-Level Week, and COP30. Through expert panels and networking with decision-makers, they will gain valuable insights into global climate mobility policies and help shape the field’s future. - Climate Mobility Impact Project:
Each fellow will design and implement a project addressing a local or regional climate mobility challenge. These projects will provide fellows the chance to apply their learning and contribute to real-world solutions, fostering measurable change in their communities.
Don't miss out on the application deadline which is 15 March 2025.
