FUNDING : Apply for the Renewables Accelerators for Innovative Startups and Entrepreneurs in Africa 2025

The 2025 Batch of RAISEAfrica: Renewables Accelerators for Innovative Startups and Entrepreneurs in Africa is now accepting applications, according to a statement released by the RES4Africa Foundation.

RAISEAfrica aims to support and amplify renewable energy-driven businesses within the African startup ecosystem. The program focuses on helping both emerging and established entrepreneurs in the African renewable energy sector by fostering innovation and encouraging the growth of their businesses.

Through this initiative, young innovators are encouraged to submit business proposals, whether they are new concepts or ongoing projects.

RAISEAfrica will select up to six startups or entrepreneurs to participate in pre-acceleration and acceleration programs, offering a comprehensive range of services, including Mentoring & Coaching, Networking & Visibility, Fundraising, and other support activities (all services will be provided in English).

Visibility is considered a crucial element for startups to attract customers, talent, and investors. By leveraging global recognition, particularly within Africa, the selected entrepreneurs and startups will have the chance to attend conferences, network with industry leaders, participate in panel discussions, and engage in site visits organized by their esteemed partners.

Thematic Focus

They invite applications from young African entrepreneurs and professionals, with a focus on entrepreneurship and renewable energy solutions. The proposed ideas and projects should highlight the creativity of these individuals, addressing various sectors such as Technology, Manufacturing, Digitalization, the Water-Energy-Food Nexus, Circular Economy, and innovative Business Models. In general, they encourage proposals that promote innovation through the lens of startups and entrepreneurial initiatives in the rapidly evolving renewable energy field.

Pre-Accelerator and Accelerator Program

RAISEAfrica offers both an accelerator and a pre-accelerator program, each serving distinct purposes. The Pre-Accelerator is designed for aspiring entrepreneurs and startups at the early stages of their business development. Its main goal is to help participants refine and validate their business plans, develop a Minimum Viable Product (MVP), and establish initial market access.

The Accelerator, on the other hand, is aimed at entrepreneurs and startups that are ready to validate their products in the market and expand their businesses. The focus here is on refining a market-ready product, building a strong team, expanding the business network, and securing a loyal customer base. The key difference between the two programs is that the pre-accelerator emphasizes developing an MVP, while the accelerator builds on this foundation to foster broader market growth.

Don't miss out on the application deadline which is  14 March 2025
