About the Scholarship
As urban landscapes evolve rapidly, safely harnessing the power of artificial intelligence (AI) is vital to achieving sustainable development. AI-driven innovations have the capacity to revolutionize the construction industry by enhancing efficiency, accuracy, and the adoption of breakthrough technologies. However, these advancements must also promote environmental sustainability and resilience. From optimizing energy use and reducing waste to enabling eco-conscious design, AI can significantly reduce the ecological footprint of urban growth. Additionally, with climate change intensifying, AI’s role in risk prediction and infrastructure reinforcement is becoming increasingly important.
Holcim is dedicated to advancing innovation in the built environment to benefit both people and the planet. Recognizing the importance of deploying AI responsibly, Holcim emphasizes the need for ethical guidelines and collaborative frameworks to ensure these tools support equitable and sustainable development.
In this spirit, Holcim is once again partnering with One Young World to offer the Holcim Scholarship 2025, which focuses on expanding global dialogue around the role of AI in sustainability and urban resilience.
