FULLY FUNDED TO NEW YORK AND WASHINGTON D.C: Apply for the 2025 Fuller Fellowship in Peacebuilding for young Asian changemakers
Applications for the 2025 William P. Fuller Fellowship in Peacebuilding are now open as of April 18. This program, offered by The Asia Foundation, will select three individuals from across Asia and the Pacific to take part in a fellowship focused on fostering connections within the global peacebuilding landscape. The goal is to enhance the fellows’ work and support their career development in this critical field.
Ideal candidates are rising or mid-level professionals who show promise as future leaders in conflict resolution. Their work may span areas such as academic research, grassroots organizing, advocacy, policymaking, or community engagement. The centerpiece of the fellowship will be a learning exchange that takes participants through the San Francisco Bay Area, New York City, and Washington, D.C., from October 13 to 24. In addition to this in-person experience, fellows will engage in virtual workshops hosted by The Asia Foundation’s Peace and Stability and Leadership and Exchange teams. Each participant will also receive funding to pursue a personalized professional growth initiative or project.
This fellowship was created to respond to the growing challenges of localized conflicts and the urgent need for innovative leaders who can develop and implement sustainable peace solutions. It represents a long-standing effort by The Asia Foundation to invest in individuals who are dedicated to improving conflict management in Asia and the Pacific. The program was first launched in 2004 as a tribute to William P. Fuller, in recognition of his 15 years of leadership at the Foundation and his commitment to nurturing young peacebuilders in the region.
Funded by private endowments, the fellowship seeks applicants who are no older than 40 during the program year (born after October 13, 1985), hold citizenship from one of the eligible countries in Asia or the Pacific, and are deeply invested in promoting peace in the region. Candidates must be fluent in English, committed to collaborative learning, and possess at least three years of relevant experience. They should also be able to attend the full program and secure the necessary visa for U.S. travel. The application deadline is June 1, 2025, and submissions must be made through the designated online portal.
