Since its launch in 2014, the World Internet Conference (WIC) has hosted its Wuzhen Summit for eleven consecutive years, becoming a major global platform for digital dialogue. Each year, the summit brings together over 1,000 senior figures from governments, global institutions, leading tech companies, academic circles, and industry bodies to exchange ideas and collaborate on the future of the internet and its governance.
Throughout its history, the Summit has played a critical role in shaping international discussions on digital innovation and cooperation. It has consistently served as a catalyst for consensus-building, knowledge sharing, and global collaboration in the digital economy, earning widespread recognition and support from the international community.
In July 2022, the World Internet Conference was formally established as an international organization, aiming to provide a collaborative platform for addressing the challenges and opportunities of the digital age. With a focus on inclusivity and global benefit, the organization works to strengthen digital cooperation, promote cybersecurity, and support the development of a shared digital future for all.
Supporting the Next Generation – Global Youth Leadership Program (GYLP)
As a core initiative of the WIC international organization, the Global Youth Leadership Program (GYLP) was introduced in 2023 to empower emerging leaders in the digital space. Since its inception, the program has attracted applications from hundreds of young innovators representing 85 countries and regions across six continents.

Leadership Forum
Each year, during the Wuzhen Summit, the GYLP hosts a dedicated Global Youth Leadership Forum, providing a space for young professionals to address key challenges in the internet landscape and contribute their perspectives to global discussions. -
Capacity Development
The program offers high-level training opportunities, including international research trips, expert-led sessions, and workshops aimed at enhancing the professional capabilities and global outlook of future internet leaders. -
Youth-Driven Research
Through youth-led research projects focused on internet technology, digital industries, and governance, participants contribute to shaping policy and building consensus. These insights are shared through WIC’s working groups to influence the development of international internet standards and policies.
The WIC and its Global Youth Leadership Program are committed to equipping the next generation with the tools, platforms, and knowledge to lead in the evolving digital era and play a meaningful role in shaping the future of cyberspace.
