The 2025 Global Contest is dedicated to advancing the cause of climate justice, recognizing that the climate crisis is also a critical human rights challenge.
The competition seeks powerful visual stories that capture the experiences of individuals and communities most affected by climate change — including climate-displaced populations, children, the elderly, people with disabilities or injuries, low-income groups, indigenous communities, island nations, and women.
Submissions that spotlight environmental advocates and individuals actively working to combat or adapt to the climate crisis are also encouraged.

Additional Information
The Grand Prize Winner will be awarded $5,000 USD, with their work — along with that of the top 10 finalists and 20 honorable mentions — featured globally through the UN.org platform.
Photographs should depict individuals or communities either affected by the consequences of climate change or actively involved in efforts to combat, reduce, or adapt to its impacts.
Each submission must include the following details: the photographer’s full name, image title, the date and location the photo was taken, and a brief description.
Only photographs captured between August 1, 2024, and August 5, 2025, will be considered.
