STIPEND AVAILABLE : Be part of the Don Lavoie Fellowship 2026–2027 (Online)

Applications are now open for the Don Lavoie Fellowship 2026–2027 academic year. This competitive, semester-long online fellowship is designed for undergraduate students, recent graduates, young professionals, and early-stage graduate students who are exploring graduate studies and have an interest in political economy.

The programme offers participants an opportunity to deepen their understanding of key ideas in political economy while gaining practical exposure to academic and policy-oriented research. Fellows engage in a structured online learning experience that combines guided readings, scholar-led discussions, and peer interaction.

Selected fellows will take part in online discussion sessions introducing foundational and contemporary perspectives from the Austrian, Virginia, and Bloomington schools of political economy. Through these activities, participants build analytical skills and learn how to apply political economy concepts to real-world research and policy questions.

In addition to academic enrichment, fellows become part of a wider network of students, alumni, faculty members, and scholars connected to Mercatus-affiliated research communities. The programme also provides guidance on research development, career pathways, and preparation for graduate school.

Application Timeline

  • Application deadline: 15 April 2026

  • Application review begins after the deadline

  • Admission decisions are expected to be released approximately twelve weeks or more after the closing date
