Applications are open for Paid Traineeships at the Council of the European Union (Brussels) for graduates and students who want to gain practical experience within EU institutions. Each year, around 110 trainees are selected to work at the heart of European decision-making processes in Brussels.
Traineeship Periods
The programme runs twice a year for a duration of five months:

Areas of Work
Trainees may be placed in policy, legal, or support teams, working on topics such as:

Foreign affairs

Human resources

IT and translation
Typical tasks include research, meeting preparation, data analysis, document drafting, event support, and translation work.

Additional Information
- Monthly grant of €1,538.16 (net)
- Monthly meal allowance

What Participants Will Gain

Applicants must have:
- Advanced knowledge of English or French (minimum C1 level)
- Very good knowledge of at least two EU official languages
- No prior long-term training or employment (more than six weeks) in EU institutions
- No age limit applies
