Additional Information

Host Institution
Italian universities and officially recognized higher education institutions in Italy.
Program Type
Fully Funded
Program Benefits
Selected scholars receive financial support that helps cover their study and living expenses while in Italy. The scholarship typically provides a monthly allowance of about €900 per month for a period of nine months, which helps students pay for accommodation, food, and daily living costs during their studies.

In addition to the monthly stipend, beneficiaries are usually exempt from tuition fees at participating Italian universities, although some administrative charges may still apply depending on the institution. The scholarship also includes health and medical insurance coverage for the duration of the funded period in Italy. These benefits allow scholars to focus on their academic work and research without major financial burdens.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must be foreign citizens or Italian citizens living abroad who come from countries eligible for the program. Candidates must meet the admission requirements of the Italian university or institution where they intend to study. For example, applicants for master’s degree programs must hold a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification that allows admission to a master’s program in Italy. The scholarship is generally intended for students enrolling in the first year of their chosen program and cannot be used for programs outside the approved categories such as standard bachelor’s degrees or certain short postgraduate courses.

Applicants must also demonstrate adequate language proficiency depending on the language of instruction of the chosen program. Many courses are offered in English, but some require knowledge of Italian. In addition, candidates must meet age and academic merit requirements defined in the official call. The application must be submitted through the official “Study in Italy” portal, and shortlisted candidates may be invited for further evaluation or interviews by Italian diplomatic missions.
