Fellowship opportunities are available from the Global Studies Centre (GSC) at the University of Pittsburg to persons from developing nations who show promise for becoming future leaders in the public, business, nonprofit, or governmental spheres.

Regarding the Award: Heinz Fellowships are awarded to people from developing nations who show promise for becoming future leaders in the public, business, nonprofit, or governmental spheres. The intention is to strengthen a Fellow's ability to advance their nation's growth early in their career and to deepen their awareness of the United States. As of the 2012–13 academic year, the Fellowship has undergone restructuring to better match with certain Master’s programmes offered by Pitt professional schools. Applications from Heinz are no longer directly accepted by the GSC. In order to apply for the Fellowship, candidates should, upon receiving your approval, contact the professional school they applied to.

The application timeline outlines that candidates for the Master's program should check the specific deadline corresponding to the school and academic year of their application. Winners will be notified in May, and the fellowship year is scheduled to commence on August 1, concluding on June 30 the following year.
