FULLY FUNDED: Apply for the JSPS-UNU Post Doctoral Fellowship Program 2024
Applications are currently being accepted for the 2024 JSPS-UNU Postdoctoral Fellowship Programme.
UNU offers these fellowships to young scholars and policymakers, primarily from the developing world, providing a multidisciplinary environment for advanced research and training aligned with the applicant's professional interests and the thematic program's research agenda. Since its inception in 1996, over 250 researchers, with 70% from the developing world, have benefited from collaboration with UNU and Japanese scholars.
The fellowship targets candidates who completed their doctorates in the last six years, excluding maternity/paternity leave, with UNU-IAS Tokyo serving as the nominating authority. Eligible applicants must be citizens of countries with diplomatic relations with Japan, except for Japanese nationals and permanent residents. The benefits include a round-trip air ticket, a monthly maintenance allowance of JPY 362,000, a settling-in allowance of JPY 200,000, and overseas travel insurance, subject to JSPS regulations.
Note that these amounts may be subject to change. If a fellow is already in Japan or obtains resident status before the fellowship begins, certain benefits may not be provided.
