Austrian Embassy Kampala is hiring a Water and Sanitation Advisor
The Water and Sanitation Advisor will be based in the Coordination Office for Development Cooperation of the Austrian Embassy Kampala and will work under the overall supervision of the Head of Office.
Position: Water and Sanitation Advisor (locally employed)
Working hours:40 hours/week
Tentative starting Date : 15.03.2024
Location : Kampala, Uganda
Duties & Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the Water and Sanitation Advisor will include the overall management of the water and sanitation sector portfolio, sector coordination and policy dialogue, project management and other related task, for example:
• Sector Programme management, including planning and monitoring the work programme, reporting, evaluations, contribution to strategy formulation.
• Sector coordination and policy dialogue, including participation in sector working groups and provision of sector specific analysis.
• Project management, including development of project ideas, initiation of ADA-internal approval procedures, monitoring of project implementation, support to project administration and documentation, assistance with project evaluation and procurement of (consulting) services.
• Horizontal tasks, including sharing of experiences and lessons learnt within ADC and the knowledge network in Uganda, acting as focal point for environment, climate change and energy.

Additional Information
• Holder of a University degree (Masters Level) in engineering, environmental studies (or similar)
• Relevant working experience of at least 15 years (5 years thereof in programme and project cycle management, including financial project management/reporting)
• Demonstrated work experience with international institutions and management of donor funded projects
• Ugandan national (or holder of residence/working permit)
