Africa Economic Symposium (AES) 2026 Volunteer Opportunity in Morocco – Apply now
Applications are now open for volunteers to support the 4th Africa Economic Symposium (AES) 2026, an international event organized by the Policy Center for the New South. The symposium will be held in Rabat, Morocco, from 13–14 July 2026 under the theme "Turning Transitions into Growth."
The volunteer programme offers students and young professionals an opportunity to gain practical experience in organizing a major international conference while engaging with leading economists, policymakers, researchers, and development experts from across Africa and beyond.
About the Africa Economic Symposium
The Africa Economic Symposium has become an important platform for discussions on Africa’s economic transformation and sustainable development. Since its launch, the event has expanded significantly, bringing together more than 200 experts from over 40 countries to exchange ideas, present research, and discuss policy solutions for the continent's future.
Volunteers will play a key role in supporting the successful delivery of the symposium while gaining exposure to international policy dialogue and professional event management.
Volunteer Responsibilities
Selected volunteers will work alongside the organizing team and assist with various aspects of the event, including:
- Event logistics and coordination.
- Registration and participant support.
- Communications and media assistance.
- Production and operational activities.
- Administrative support before and during the conference.
Participation in orientation sessions and team meetings is mandatory. Volunteers may also have the opportunity to attend selected sessions of the symposium.

Important Information
The volunteer role is unpaid. However, organizers will provide meals during the event and may arrange accommodation for volunteers who require it.
Applicants should include an updated CV and cover letter, ensuring that a current phone number is listed, as interviews are expected to begin from 1 July 2026.

- Previous experience in event management is considered an advantage but is not required.
