Applications are open for the SECT Cohort 6 – Women in Energy Africa Program
Student Energy is currently accepting applications for the 6th Cohort of its flagship Career Training Program (SECT), a fully online initiative aimed at equipping young women from across Africa with critical skills for leadership and employment in the energy space.
About the Program
Running from July 2025 to February 2026, SECT offers a rich blend of online coursework, team-based project experience with leading energy companies, one-on-one career coaching, and access to Student Energy’s global network.
Cohort 6 is dedicated exclusively to African women aged 18–30 who are eager to develop their careers in the sustainable energy industry. The program spans 30 weeks and requires an average commitment of 10 hours per week, totaling approximately 300 hours.
Program Timeline
🟢 July to Mid-August 2025
- Online orientation & general energy curriculum
- Coaching introductions and team-building sessions
🟢 Mid-August to Mid-December 2025
- Weekly meetings with a project partner and your project team
- Ongoing work on a group Practicum Project, culminating in a final presentation
- Completion of specialized learning modules
🟢 January to February 2026
- Career development modules
- Interactive webinars and mixer events
- Personalized coaching for professional growth
