Applications are Open for the UNICEF Evaluation Youth Advisory Group – Global Evaluation Evidence Synthesis 2023–2024

UNICEF Evaluation is inviting young people to express interest in joining a Youth Advisory Group (YAG) that will contribute to the Global Evaluation Evidence Synthesis 2023–2024. This initiative builds on earlier syntheses covering evaluations conducted between 2019 and 2022 and now integrates nearly 290 new evaluations. The goal is to assess UNICEF’s performance across the Strategic Plan 2022–2025 Goal Areas, highlighting what has worked, what has not, and the reasons behind these outcomes in both development and humanitarian settings.

Purpose of the Youth Advisory Group
The YAG will ensure that the evaluation process remains inclusive, youth-centered, and relevant. Members will play a central role by:

  • Providing youth perspectives on evaluation questions and emerging findings.

  • Reviewing and validating conclusions and recommendations.

  • Supporting the development of an evaluation approach that reflects young people’s insights and priorities.

Commitment
Participation will span September 2025 – January 2026, requiring about five working days in total. The group will meet at least three times to:

  1. Review evaluation questions and methodology.

  2. Discuss preliminary findings and conclusions.

  3. Validate recommendations and contribute to dissemination efforts.

While the role is voluntary, members will gain access to training in evaluation methods, receive a certificate of participation, and be acknowledged in the final evaluation report.

Applications should be sent along with a CV to:
