Apply for the World of 8 Billion Challenge ( CASH PRIZES )

The World of 8 Billion is pleased to announce a brand-new challenge: make a one-minute film and show the world your solution.

Topics & Themes

Participants are required to create a one-minute video addressing one of this year's global issues, proposing a sustainable solution, and explaining how human population growth affects that issue. The themes for the video are:

1. Child Wellbeing: This theme covers anything that ensures children are healthy, safe, and happy, including aspects like education, nutrition, home environment, and caregiving. Child wellbeing is a broad topic with many challenges, so for the video, it's recommended to focus on one specific subtopic, such as:
- Access to Education
- Child Labor
- Environmental Justice
- Wealth Inequality
- Healthy Children
- Teen Pregnancy and Marriage

2. Rainforest Ecosystems: Rainforests, some of which are over 70 million years old, are vital ecosystems that regulate the climate and support a wide range of life. While the topic is vast, the video should concentrate on one aspect of rainforest ecosystems, such as:
- Biodiversity
- Deforestation
- Zoonotic Diseases
- Indigenous Communities
- Ecosystem Services
- Globalization

3. Sanitation: Access to sanitation and clean water is recognized as a human right by the United Nations, but many global challenges persist in providing effective sanitation systems. This theme addresses the availability of clean drinking water and proper waste disposal systems. Rather than tackling the entire topic, the video should focus on one subtopic, such as:
- Access to Sanitation
- Sewage Treatment Infrastructure
- Water Contamination
- Urbanization
- Public Health
- Economic Impacts

Don't miss out on the application deadline which is December 12, 2024.
