Apply to become a YOUNGO Loss and Damage Working Group Contact Point (2026 Mandate)
The YOUNGO Loss and Damage Working Group is inviting applications for the role of Contact Point (CP) for the 2026 mandate period. This leadership opportunity is open to motivated youth climate advocates who are passionate about advancing Loss and Damage discussions within the UNFCCC youth constituency.
Contact Points act as the main coordinators and facilitators of the Working Group. They support smooth internal communication, encourage inclusive participation among members, and serve as a bridge between the Working Group and the wider YOUNGO network. While CPs do not make decisions independently, they play a key role in ensuring collaborative and transparent engagement in line with YOUNGO’s governance principles.
For 2026, the Working Group will select two Contact Points, with the possibility of appointing a third in special circumstances. The positions are designed to reflect regional diversity where possible and are appointed for a one-year term, with an option for renewal according to mandate guidelines.
Applications will be reviewed based on eligibility, alignment with YOUNGO policies, and relevant experience. Candidates are encouraged to carefully consider their availability and capacity to commit to the role before applying. Applicants are also advised to review the Working Group Contact Point Mandate and related YOUNGO policies to fully understand the responsibilities.
The application deadline is 10 February 2026 at 11:59 PM (GMT+5:30). The application process may take approximately 40–60 minutes, and progress can be saved to complete later.
