Applications are open for the Awaken Action 2026 Artist Open Call, inviting creative artists to submit original artwork that reflects the theme “The Future We’re Building.” The opportunity is designed for artists who want to use their creativity to explore visions of a future shaped by climate justice, collective care, youth leadership, and the voices of frontline communities.

The selected artwork will become the official visual identity of Awaken Action 2026, a global youth climate gathering that brings together young climate leaders, artists, organizers, and Indigenous leaders from different parts of the world. Through art, storytelling, and community engagement, the event celebrates climate action and highlights the role of creativity in inspiring social and environmental change.

Artists are encouraged to submit original work that represents their personal interpretation of a future where communities work together to address climate challenges and build a more just and sustainable world. The organizers are looking for powerful visual storytelling that captures ideas of resilience, collaboration, hope, and the leadership of young people and communities directly affected by climate issues.

The selected artist will receive a $750 artist fee and will have their artwork featured as the official creative representation of the Awaken Action Youth Climate Gala 2026. The chosen artist will also collaborate with the gala team during the final stages of development to refine the artwork and prepare it for official use.

The Awaken Action Youth Climate Gala 2026 is co-hosted by Re-Earth Initiative, Care About Climate, Entertainment + Culture Pavilion, Engajamundo, and Earth Daughters. The event forms part of Climate Week NYC and provides a platform for young climate leaders and creatives to connect, share ideas, and inspire global climate action.

Artists interested in participating must submit their applications before August 3, 2026, at 11:59 PM EDT. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, so interested creatives are encouraged to apply early.
