AWARDS: Apply for the Climate Resilience Awards for Business and get a chance to showcase your work at COP30 in Belém, Brazil

Applications are open for the Climate Resilience Awards for Business, an initiative introduced by the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) in partnership with the Global Resilience Partnership (GRP). These awards are designed to highlight enterprises that are advancing climate resilience through creativity, collaboration, and measurable contributions within their operations, supply networks, and the wider communities they engage with.

The program places its emphasis on climate action, finance, and market transformation, aiming to acknowledge forward-looking business solutions that build resilience in societies, ecosystems, and economies. It encourages collaboration among businesses, authorities, and organizations to drive sustainable practices and seeks to spotlight outstanding efforts that serve as practical examples for others, offering real-world lessons and actionable approaches to strengthening resilience.

The awards recognize companies that are actively working to evaluate and secure resilience against climate risks and related physical challenges, not only for their own operations but also across supply chains and local communities. Categories include the Strategic Leadership in Resilience Award, which acknowledges enterprises embedding resilience across their business models, testing new adaptive solutions, improving supply chain robustness, or showcasing notable individual commitment. The Partnerships and Collaboration Award honors initiatives where businesses successfully cooperate with public institutions to design or execute adaptation efforts. In addition, the SME Award highlights smaller companies demonstrating excellence within any of these categories.

Entries are reviewed by an independent panel of experts in business and resilience, who assess submissions based on creativity, measurable outcomes, and the long-term potential of the solutions to be sustained and scaled. The awards are open to businesses worldwide, regardless of size or industry, and small enterprises are encouraged to participate. There is no fee to apply, but submissions must be based on recent case studies that meet all entry requirements and include relevant supporting information.

The application window runs from 3 September to 18 October, with finalists notified within two weeks to allow time to prepare for the official announcements scheduled ahead of COP30. By participating, companies not only support global adaptation efforts and the COP30 Action Agenda but also contribute to demonstrating concrete climate resilience action from the business sector. Those selected as finalists or winners receive visibility through the digital platforms of GRP, WBCSD, and their partners, inclusion in reports showcasing leading practices, opportunities to engage at prominent events including COP30, and the chance to inspire other enterprises to adopt resilience-driven approaches.
