CALLING ACTIVISTS AND CHANGEMAKERS: Apply for the Impulse Boost Camp (IBC) 2026
Applications are open for the Impulse Boost Camp (IBC) 2026, an international training experience designed for young social changemakers who want to deepen their impact and strengthen their activism. This nine-day program, scheduled for July 25 to August 2, 2026, brings together motivated young people from across Europe and neighboring regions, offering a space to grow, collaborate, and exchange ideas in a supportive environment.
IBC focuses on helping participants explore practical tools that make activism more sustainable, creative, and effective. Throughout the program, attendees engage in workshops on team communication, storytelling, design thinking, personal development, and stress management. The methods used are rooted in non-formal learning and approaches inspired by frameworks such as Art of Hosting, ensuring an interactive and participatory experience. Since the camp is co-created by everyone involved, participants share their own stories and insights while learning from the diverse experiences of others.
The training takes place in the peaceful countryside of Altenburger Land in Thuringia, Germany, close to the lively city of Leipzig. Participants stay together in a group house and take part in daily activities, creating a sense of community and collective learning. After returning home, they are encouraged to share the skills and knowledge gained during the camp with peers and fellow activists.
Accepted participants can expect to enhance their soft skills, discover new tools for activism, connect with changemakers from different countries, and engage in meaningful self-reflection. The experience also offers time in nature, healthy food, and a supportive atmosphere that encourages personal and professional growth.
Eligible applicants are young activists aged 20 to 30 who are currently involved in voluntary work or civic engagement and have at least a B2 level of English. They should be based in EU countries or neighboring regions, including South West Asia and North Africa. Applicants are expected to be open to learning, ready to contribute actively, and aware of global and interpersonal power dynamics.
The program follows a solidarity-based fee structure to ensure accessibility. Participants may contribute between €0 and €120 depending on their financial situation. This contribution covers accommodation, learning materials, and vegan/vegetarian meals. A travel grant reimbursing up to 70% of travel costs is also available, with a maximum limit of €309 based on Erasmus+ distance rules. Visa expenses, however, cannot be reimbursed.
Young changemakers who are eager to strengthen their activism, connect across cultures, and develop tools for long-term impact are encouraged to apply now.
