This global photography competition invites individuals to share honest and powerful visual narratives of what it truly means to live alongside wildlife. From harmony to conflict, the aim is to highlight authentic human-wildlife interactions as experienced across different regions of the world.

Participants are encouraged to submit images that are respectful, truthful, and unfiltered — not posed or dramatized. Each photograph should reflect real lives, dignity, and agency. Consent must be obtained from any recognizable individuals featured in the image.

Eligibility:
Open to anyone aged 18 and above, regardless of country of residence or professional background. No photography experience is required to enter.

Themes / Categories:

• Life on the Edge – Capturing everyday life where human and animal worlds intersect

• Reality Check – The tough realities and challenges of coexisting with wildlife

• Custodians of the Land – Celebrating community-led conservation and stewardship

Submission Process:

• Photos will be reviewed by the Jamma team in early September 2025

• A panel of independent judges will select the final winners

• Winners will be notified by phone or email by mid-September

• Public announcement and awards ceremony to be held in October 2025 in South Africa

Evaluation Criteria:
Submissions will be assessed based on:

• Relevance to category themes

• Narrative strength and emotional resonance

• Authenticity and ethical representation

• Basic photographic quality (e.g., clarity and composition) — high-end equipment is not necessary

Casual phone images and spontaneous, real-life moments are especially encouraged.
