Awards and Benefits
ACLA will award over $200,000 to more than 40 winners in 2025. Categories include:
- General Award: Recognizing individuals or organizations with impactful climate advocacy and engagement efforts (local to national reach).
- Youth Award: Honoring young climate leaders (14-24 years old) making a difference in their schools, communities, or states.
- Honor Award: Celebrating an exceptional climate leader advancing national climate progress.
Prizes range from $1,000 to $50,000.

The American Climate Leadership Awards offers a comprehensive rewards package to recognize and support outstanding climate leaders. Winners will receive significant financial awards, ranging from $1,000 to $50,000, to further their climate initiatives. Furthermore, finalists' work will be showcased through publicly available How-To Guides, facilitating the replication of successful climate solutions. By participating, climate leaders will join a distinguished community of over 150 past awardees, gaining access to a network of like-minded individuals and organizations driving climate action in the United States.
The American Climate Leadership Awards seeks outstanding initiatives that:
Have implemented or completed programs within the past year (no future plans accepted)
Demonstrate exceptional leadership and success in engaging diverse audiences to support climate action
Showcase effective climate solutions with clear objectives, tactics, and measurable outcomes
Have successful local or regional programs that can be replicated nationally
Reach new audiences, particularly underserved or underrepresented communities
Applicants must meet one of the following criteria:
1. Transformational leaders pioneering innovative climate solutions
2. Youth climate leaders (14-24 years old) working locally or statewide
3. Non-profit organizations driving community climate action and advocacy
4. Local for-profit businesses promoting climate action within their community
Key Requirements:
- Current or recently completed programming (no future plans)
- National submissions accepted only from leaders (not youth)
- Applications welcome from diverse communities and organizations
