Selected trainees will participate in an 18-month, fully paid program beginning in January 2027. They will receive a monthly salary, professional mentoring, and hands-on training at DW’s headquarters in Bonn and Berlin. The program covers diverse skills including data journalism, multimedia storytelling, TV and radio presentation, and the use of artificial intelligence in media. Fellows will also complete newsroom placements and benefit from intensive workshops and real newsroom exposure across DW’s global offices.

This opportunity is open to aspiring journalists who are highly motivated and creative. Candidates should demonstrate a strong interest in journalism, the ability to work collaboratively, and the capacity to produce high-quality media content. Prior experience in media or journalism is an advantage, but passion and commitment are the primary criteria.
