The ACT Nyoloha Scholarship Programme provides financial support to help successful applicants pursue higher education in the arts. The scholarship can cover essential study expenses such as registration fees, tuition fees, and academic materials required for the programme. In addition to financial support, finalists participate in intensive training workshops, mentorship programmes, and networking opportunities with established professionals in the arts and cultural industries.

Participants gain valuable industry exposure and professional development through collaborative projects and masterclasses. Finalists are invited to attend a special finals week and gala event in Johannesburg, where travel, meals, and accommodation are covered by the programme. During this event, winners are selected and awarded scholarships valued at up to R300,000 to pursue their studies in performing, digital, or visual arts at accredited South African institutions. 

Applicants must be young individuals who demonstrate talent and passion in the arts and are interested in pursuing their first formal qualification in the creative sector. Candidates must be between the ages of 17 and 25 and should either be currently in their final year of secondary school or have completed secondary education with university exemption. They must intend to begin undergraduate studies in performing arts or visual/digital arts at an accredited South African institution in the 2026 academic year.

Applicants must also show financial need and must not already be enrolled in a tertiary institution for the year of application. The programme is designed for emerging artists, therefore individuals who already hold an arts-related tertiary qualification or are working as professional artists are not eligible. Applicants must also be willing to participate fully in the six-month development programme, including workshops, mentorship sessions, and the final showcase activities. In addition, applicants must be citizens of South Africa.
