Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the APHRC Internship 2026, applicants must be nationals of Sub-Saharan African countries, making the opportunity specifically targeted at young Africans who are passionate about research and development on the continent. Candidates are required to have either recently completed a bachelor’s degree within the last six months or be currently pursuing or completing a master’s degree in relevant fields such as population studies, demography, statistics, epidemiology, economics, social sciences, or closely related disciplines. Applicants should also demonstrate strong quantitative or qualitative analytical skills, depending on the specific internship role, and must be able to work collaboratively in a research-driven and multicultural environment.

This opportunity is open to all Sub-Saharan African countries. This includes countries such as Uganda, Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana, Rwanda, Tanzania, South Africa, Ethiopia, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Senegal, and many others across the region. Any applicant who is a citizen of a Sub-Saharan African country is eligible to apply, provided they meet the academic and skill requirements.
