This scholarship awards full funding for the online component of the Power Sector Regulation in Africa course for selected applicants (usually up to ten scholars). The funding covers the online course fees, giving professionals the opportunity to deepen their understanding of regulatory frameworks, industry standards, market design, and best practices in energy regulation. This training can strengthen career development and enhance the capacity of regulatory institutions across Africa. The scholarship does not cover costs for the optional in-person component of the program.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must be citizens of an African country and currently working in the energy sector. Eligible candidates typically have a master’s degree and at least three years of relevant professional experience; however, applicants with a bachelor’s degree and at least five years of experience may also be considered. Applicants should demonstrate financial need, a strong professional track record, and a commitment to applying the course knowledge to support energy sector regulation in their home context. Participants must be able to fully engage with all components of the online course, including attendance in live virtual sessions and completion of coursework and assessments.
