Applications are open for the AfriMAB GRÓ-LRT Land Restoration Fellowships 2027, a prestigious initiative jointly organized by UNESCO’s Man and the Biosphere (MAB) Programme and Iceland’s GRÓ Land Restoration Training Programme. The fellowship is designed to strengthen the capacity of professionals working in African biosphere reserves by equipping them with advanced knowledge and practical skills in ecosystem restoration and sustainable land management. Fellows will undertake an intensive six-month postgraduate training programme in Iceland that combines classroom learning, fieldwork, and the development of an individual restoration project aimed at addressing environmental challenges in their home countries.

Participants will benefit from an international learning environment while building networks with experts and practitioners committed to restoring degraded landscapes across Africa. Upon successful completion of the programme, fellows will receive a postgraduate diploma and 30 ECTS credits from the Agricultural University of Iceland, enabling them to contribute more effectively to conservation and restoration efforts in their communities.
