Applications are open for the 2027 edition of the Future Generation Art Prize, a prestigious international contemporary art competition established by the Victor Pinchuk Foundation. Since its establishment in 2009, the competition has supported over 100 artists through exhibitions, commissions, and collaborations hosted at the PinchukArtCentre and at official collateral events of the Venice Biennale.

The prize is open to artists working in all artistic mediums including painting, sculpture, photography, digital art, performance art, installation art, film, mixed media, and experimental forms of contemporary artistic expression. Program Benefits

The main winner of the competition receives a total award of US$100,000. This includes US$60,000 provided as a direct cash prize and an additional US$40,000 invested into the development of the artist’s future artistic practice and production of new work. Beyond the financial award, shortlisted artists gain international recognition through exhibitions hosted at the PinchukArtCentre, creating valuable exposure to global collectors, curators, galleries, and cultural institutions.

The jury may also award up to five special prizes totaling US$20,000 to support selected artistic projects and further professional growth. Participants benefit from networking opportunities, mentorship exposure, and the possibility of long-term collaboration with leading institutions and art professionals around the world.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must be artists aged 35 years or younger at the time of application. There are no restrictions based on nationality, gender, race, religion, or artistic medium, making the competition one of the most inclusive global art opportunities available for emerging creatives. Artists may apply individually through the online application system, and applicants from all regions of the world are encouraged to submit their artistic portfolios and project ideas. Previous winners of the prize are not eligible to apply again, but former applicants who still meet the age requirement may reapply in future editions.

The selection process involves an international committee of experts including curators, artists, critics, and art educators who review applications and shortlist outstanding candidates for the final exhibition. Up to twenty artists are selected through the open call process, while additional nominations may come from global art correspondents associated with the program.
