Applications are now open for the GSK Scholarships for Future Health Leaders 2026–2027, a prestigious funding opportunity supporting the next generation of public health leaders from sub-Saharan Africa.
This highly competitive scholarship enables outstanding candidates to pursue a one-year, full-time, on-campus MSc programme at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) in the United Kingdom.
The initiative aims to strengthen health systems and health-related research capacity across Africa by investing in talented individuals with strong leadership potential.
Eligible Programmes
The scholarship applies to most intensive, London-based MSc programmes at LSHTM, excluding joint degrees and distance-learning programmes.

Additional Information
- Full tuition fees for the MSc programme (including compulsory field trip costs)
- A tax-free living stipend of £22,000 for the academic year
- Intend to return to sub-Saharan Africa after completing their studies
- Hold a first degree equivalent to a First Class or Upper Second Class
- Have secured an offer of admission for a London-based, face-to-face MSc programme at LSHTM for 2026–27
- Meet LSHTM’s English language requirements by 15 June 2026
- Demonstrate that they cannot self-fund the programme without scholarship support
- Preference is given to candidates who clearly show the potential to make meaningful contributions to public health practice, policy, or research in Africa.
