This includes mentorship from experienced professionals and faculty, leadership and entrepreneurship training, access to internships and experiential learning opportunities, career readiness preparation, and networking with a pan-African community of scholars and alumni.

The scholarship also promotes holistic student development through psychosocial support, community engagement opportunities, and programs aimed at nurturing innovation and social responsibility. Scholars are equipped not only to excel academically but also to emerge as ethical leaders, entrepreneurs, and changemakers capable of driving positive transformation across Africa.

To be considered for the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at Pan-Atlantic University, applicants must demonstrate strong academic performance, leadership potential, and a genuine commitment to giving back to their communities. Candidates should show evidence of excellence in academics as well as a passion for using education as a tool for social change and development.

Applicants must have completed secondary school and possess at least five credit passes in WAEC, NECO, GCE, or NABTEB, including English Language and Mathematics, obtained in not more than two sittings. Applicants are also expected to meet Pan-Atlantic University admission requirements, including a minimum UTME score of 220 and the subject combinations relevant to their preferred program of study.

Beyond academic qualifications, the scholarship seeks students who can demonstrate financial need and whose educational ambitions would significantly benefit from scholarship support. Preference is often given to candidates who have shown resilience in overcoming adversity, leadership in school or community settings, and commitment to making meaningful contributions to society.
