The Romanian Government Scholarship is fully funded and provides comprehensive financial support throughout the duration of the selected study programme. The scholarship covers full tuition fees, ensuring that beneficiaries are exempt from paying registration and academic costs. It also provides funding for a preparatory Romanian language year when required. Scholars receive a monthly stipend to support living expenses in Romania, as well as accommodation in student dormitories subject to availability according to university regulations. In addition, beneficiaries are exempt from certain administrative and enrollment-related fees. While the scholarship covers major academic and living costs, international travel expenses to and from Romania are generally not included and should be arranged by the student.

Applicants must be citizens of non-EU countries and must not hold Romanian citizenship. Candidates are required to present officially recognized academic documents from accredited institutions and must demonstrate strong academic performance, generally reflected in good grades in their previous studies. The scholarship is open for Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral studies; however, it does not cover programmes in Medicine, Dental Medicine, or Pharmacy. For Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees, studies are typically conducted in Romanian, and selected candidates who do not speak Romanian will undertake a preparatory Romanian language year before beginning their academic programme. Doctoral candidates may opt to study in Romanian or, depending on the doctoral school, in another approved language.
