Selected fellows will receive a monthly stipend provided by COMSATS University Islamabad to cover accommodation, food, and health insurance expenses during the fellowship period. The programme also gives scholars access to advanced research laboratories, academic resources, and supervision from experienced faculty members.

The fellowship provides an excellent opportunity for young researchers to gain international academic exposure, strengthen research skills, and build professional networks within the global scientific community. Fellows will also study in an English-language academic environment at one of Pakistan’s leading universities.

Applicants must be nationals of developing countries other than Pakistan and must not hold permanent or temporary residency in Pakistan or any developed country. Candidates must also not be residing in Pakistan at the time of application.

Applicants should hold a Master’s degree with research in a relevant field of natural sciences or social sciences depending on the chosen programme. Candidates applying for full-time fellowships must be willing to register for a PhD programme at COMSATS University Islamabad. Applicants are required to have strong academic records, including at least a 3.0/4.0 CGPA or 60% marks without “D” grades throughout their academic studies.

The fellowship is open in fields such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Biotechnology, Environmental Sciences, Chemistry, Pharmacy, Biomedical Materials, Management Sciences, and Development Studies. Applicants must also provide proof of English proficiency if their previous education was not conducted in English.

Candidates must be 35 years old or younger by 31 December 2026. In addition, applicants are required to obtain a preliminary acceptance letter from COMSATS University Islamabad before submitting the TWAS application.

Open to applicants from developing countries worldwide except Pakistan.
