Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must be nationals of and currently living and working in a Sub-Saharan African country. They should hold a research position at a recognized university or research institution in Sub-Saharan Africa and must have obtained a PhD in a field of the natural sciences. Candidates are expected to demonstrate an active research profile and a strong record of scientific publications in internationally recognized journals.

Applicants must identify a host scientist in Germany who is willing to collaborate and provide an invitation letter outlining the planned joint research activities. The programme is open to researchers in eligible fields within the natural sciences, and applicants must meet the academic and professional requirements set by TWAS and DFG. Researchers from North African countries are not eligible under this specific programme, as it is strictly dedicated to Sub-Saharan Africa.
