FULLY FUNDED: Apply for the UJALA African Scholars Program for African Changemakers
Applications are open for the UJALA African Scholars Program. This program, hosted by the UM6P-J-PAL Applied Lab for Agriculture (UJALA), supports African researchers to lead policy-relevant impact evaluations in agriculture. It provides training, mentorship, funding, and opportunities to conduct high-quality randomized controlled trials (RCTs) that address development challenges across Africa.
The program is designed to strengthen the research capacity of African scholars, promote collaboration, and generate rigorous evidence to inform policy. Scholars will receive funding and mentorship to design and implement pilot studies while joining a strong peer and professional network.

Scholars also gain visibility and recognition as part of a global research community focused on policy-relevant evidence.
Eligible applicants include resident scholars based at African academic institutions, and non-resident scholars who completed high school in Africa but are currently based at academic institutions abroad. Priority is given to applicants affiliated with UM6P, those who have worked with OCP-related entities, and scholars who are not current J-PAL affiliates. Applicants must commit to full participation in program activities including workshops, proposal development, and mentorship.
