Program Benefits
Successful applicants will spend ten months in residence at the Wissenschaftskolleg in Berlin, from September through June. Fellows receive financial support that allows them to focus entirely on their research project, access to office and library facilities, and membership in a distinguished international community of scholars. They also benefit from regular colloquia, interdisciplinary discussions, and the intellectual freedom to pursue innovative ideas without teaching or administrative obligations.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants from all countries and from all disciplines within the humanities and social sciences are encouraged to apply. Candidates must hold a doctorate obtained no earlier than five years before the start of the fellowship. Exceptions to the five-year rule may be considered in cases such as care responsibilities, career breaks, or part-time employment, provided supporting documentation is submitted.

The fellowship is open to researchers of all nationalities worldwide. There are no restrictions based on country of origin, and the program actively seeks to foster a diverse and interdisciplinary cohort of fellows.
