Selected fellows will receive a monthly stipend of ₦1,000,000 throughout the six-month program to support their time and work. In addition, each fellow will be awarded a project support fund of at least ₦1,000,000 to cover costs related to materials, research, and production.

Fellows will also gain access to Archivi.ng’s digital archives, receive mentorship, participate in learning circles and peer review sessions, and benefit from ongoing virtual check-ins with the Archivi.ng team.

At the end of the fellowship, participants will have the opportunity to publish, exhibit, or present their projects, gaining national and international visibility. All fellows retain full ownership of their intellectual property, while granting Archivi.ng the right to host or display their work for public access.

This fellowship is open to Nigerians both within the country and in the diaspora who have a demonstrated interest in Nigerian history, storytelling, data, or cultural research. Applicants must be able to dedicate 15–20 hours per week from January to June 2026 and propose a project that is achievable within this period.

Projects must make active use of archival materials — including newspapers, audio or video recordings, magazines, photographs, or other historical sources — and aim to reveal patterns or recurring themes in Nigeria’s past and present.

While collaboration is encouraged, applications must be submitted individually. Diaspora applicants are welcome as long as their projects remain tied to Nigerian archives and can be executed remotely. Each applicant is allowed to submit only one proposal.
