Fully Funded Project : Submit Applications for the Strengthening Women’s Participation in Male-Dominated Low-Carbon Jobs

In low- and lower-middle-income countries (LMICs), ODI's Advancing Learning and Innovation on Gender Norms (ALIGN) programme is seeking institutional partners to conduct primary research and ensuing communication/dissemination activities on the subject of boosting women's participation in male-dominated low-carbon jobs.

What are they trying to find?
In order to increase the small amount of empirical data on improving women's involvement in decent work in low-carbon, male-dominated jobs in LMICs and associated changes in gender norms, proposals should include primary research. A specific industry (such as waste management, transportation, construction, or renewable energy) or industry sub-sector (such as e-waste management, solar or wind energy) could be the focus of the study. Given the greater amount of available evidence in this field, climate-smart agriculture is outside the purview of this call.

Proposals that emphasise combined techniques with quantitative and qualitative components will be given priority.
entail conducting primary research with a range of social groups, such as those from various regional, ethnic, or religious backgrounds, or socioeconomic backgrounds.
Name a few potential metrics or measurements that will be applied.
Examine the ways in which initiatives in this field are influencing or could influence changes in gender norms.
Pay attention to experiences in low- and middle-income countries.

Describe how knowledge from the particular programmes or policies under investigation could contribute to the development of more general practices and policy in this field.

Results
The following results are expected from the project:
Methodology: to be established with the ODI team in cooperation.
A research report is an overview of the main conclusions, analysis, and outcomes.
Key findings are presented in order to get input from important stakeholders.
a minimum of one extra output targeted at decision-makers or practitioners. A quick executive summary, policy brief, opinion piece, blog post, or other source material could be included in this.

The project is anticipated to be completed between July 2024 and February 2025. By the end of January 2025, the research, analysis, and write-up should be finished to give enough time for distribution efforts.
