FULLY FUNDED TO BRAZIL : Apply for the International AIDS Society (IAS) Conference Scholarship Programme 2026

Applications are open for the International AIDS Society (IAS) Conference Scholarship Programme 2026, offering fully funded support for individuals who wish to take part in AIDS 2026, scheduled for 26–31 August 2026 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, as well as through a virtual platform.

This initiative aims to make the world’s largest HIV gathering accessible to dedicated people who would otherwise lack the resources to participate. The scholarship supports those who are actively contributing to the global HIV response and who can demonstrate how attending the conference will strengthen the work they carry out in their organisations and communities.

About the Programme

AIDS 2026—the 26th International AIDS Conference—will bring together researchers, advocates, policymakers, health workers, and community leaders from across the world. The scholarship programme enables selected participants to join either in person or online, ensuring that promising voices from diverse backgrounds are included in the global dialogue.

Recipients are chosen based on their potential to share the knowledge and skills gained at the conference within their local and professional networks. The IAS also prioritises individuals whose work directly aligns with the conference’s thematic goals.

Who Is Prioritized?

While the programme is open globally, preference is given to:

  • Presenters, facilitators, or Global Village organisers with accepted contributions

  • Applicants from low- and middle-income countries

  • Members of key populations and people living with HIV

  • Individuals under the age of 35 and early-career professionals

  • Candidates who have never received a scholarship to an International AIDS Conference

Application Timeline

  • 20 November 2025 – Applications open

  • 27 January 2026 – Deadline for submissions

  • February–March 2026 – Review process
