Applications are now open for the 2025 edition of a prestigious leadership initiative that fosters collaboration between emerging business leaders from Africa and Germany. This unique programme provides a platform for young professionals to engage in meaningful exchanges, cultivate innovative solutions for a more sustainable world, and establish valuable international connections. Through direct interactions, insightful discussions, and strategic networking, participants will have the opportunity to forge long-term partnerships and explore fresh business perspectives that bridge African and German markets.

Designed to strengthen economic cooperation between Africa and Germany, this initiative brings together a dynamic group of forward-thinking individuals from diverse industries. It serves as a catalyst for new ideas within the realm of international development, encouraging dialogue and collaboration across various sectors, including entrepreneurship, technology, environmental sustainability, circular economies, and agriculture. By fostering relationships among professionals from startups, major corporations, and emerging industries, the programme seeks to inspire fresh approaches to economic growth and sustainable innovation.

Organized by ‘Germany – Land of Ideas’ with financial support from the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), and backed by the Agency for Business and Economic Development (AWE), this programme aims to cultivate a lasting network of visionary leaders. It welcomes individuals who are 40 years old or younger, possess a minimum of three years of leadership experience or have launched their own ventures, and have either originated from or worked for at least five years in Ethiopia, Ghana, Rwanda, Senegal, Tunisia, or Germany. Additionally, candidates should be passionate about driving sustainability and urban transformation while demonstrating a commitment to remaining actively engaged with the alumni community.

Participants will experience an immersive week in Germany from September 15 to 19, 2025, where they will engage in discussions with industry leaders and policymakers, showcase their business strategies, and exchange best practices. They will collaborate on real-world challenges centered on sustainable urban development, refine their leadership abilities through specialized training sessions, and build lasting professional relationships that extend beyond the programme. Digital events will also be available, offering valuable insights into emerging trends and developments in African-German economic relations. Most participation costs, including catering, will be covered, although some individual expenses will be the responsibility of attendees.
