Youth who are passionate about driving the energy transition now have an exciting opportunity to take part in a transformative experience.

The European Youth Energy Forum (EYEF), the signature event of the European Youth Energy Network (EYEN), returns this October 2026 with its largest edition yet. Held in Nice, France, this year’s forum proudly teams up with the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) as co-curator of the event’s agenda, adding a powerful global dimension to the program.

This annual gathering is designed to empower young voices and foster meaningful cooperation between youth and key players in the energy sector.

It invites young people from across Europe and the Mediterranean basin—aged between 18 and 35—to step forward and contribute to shaping the future of energy. A total of 100 driven participants will be chosen to embark on a unique journey exploring the theme From Potential to Skills: Shaping Young Professionals for the Energy Transition.

Their work will begin with a series of online workshops held weekly from June through September and conclude with a dynamic five-day, in-person event in Nice, France, with all travel and accommodation costs fully covered.

Participants will engage in a stimulating mix of keynote speeches, expert-led panels, collaborative policy-building sessions, and interactive workshops. These activities aim to craft actionable proposals that help young professionals and students develop the critical skills needed to lead a just and inclusive energy transition. The forum provides a space where emerging leaders can exchange ideas, learn from top voices in the field, and actively contribute to shaping Europe’s energy future.
