Applications are now being accepted for the 2026 Rhodes Global Scholarships. This prestigious, fully funded award offers exceptional young individuals from across the globe the opportunity to pursue full-time postgraduate studies at the University of Oxford. Recipients of the Rhodes Scholarship journey to the UK for a minimum of two years, with the chance to enroll in most of the postgraduate programs available at Oxford.

This scholarship is intended for those who cannot apply through an existing Rhodes constituency. Applicants must either have no eligibility under any specific Rhodes constituency or have a significant connection to one but do not meet its specific criteria. For those with multiple national ties, considering inter-jurisdictional options before applying for the Global Scholarship is recommended.

Eligibility for the Rhodes Global Scholarship requires candidates to meet age criteria based on their academic or professional paths. Applicants must be between 18 and 24 years old by October 1, 2025, meaning their date of birth falls between October 2, 2000, and October 1, 2007. For candidates in medical fields with a compulsory internship, the age range extends to 25. Older applicants who finished their first undergraduate degree later than usual may also qualify if they are under 27 and completed their degree on or after October 1, 2024. Degree completion is determined by university policy, and the decision of the National Secretary is final in cases of uncertainty.

A strong academic background is essential. Candidates must have completed, or be on track to complete by July 2026, an undergraduate degree, such as a Bachelor’s. Additionally, their academic record must at least meet the entry requirements for their selected postgraduate program at Oxford. Prospective students stand a stronger chance of admission if they have achieved a First Class Honours degree or the equivalent, or maintained a GPA of 3.7 or above on a 4.0 scale.

The Rhodes Scholarship provides comprehensive financial support, covering full tuition fees for Oxford University and offering an annual stipend of £19,800 (equivalent to £1,650 per month) to cover living expenses, including housing. It is important to note that this stipend does not cover costs for dependents or partners. Beyond this, the Rhodes Trust will also pay for the application fee to Oxford, visa fees, and the International Health Surcharge (IHS), which grants international students access to the UK’s National Health Service. Additionally, two economy flights to and from the UK—one at the start of the program and one at its conclusion—are included.
