Applications are now open for the UNDP UniPod Ignite Entrepreneurship – Idea to Venture Bootcamp 2026, a fully funded online programme designed to help aspiring entrepreneurs, students, graduates, and early-stage innovators across Africa transform promising business ideas into viable ventures.
Delivered by UNDP Africa UniPods in partnership with the Wadhwani Foundation, the four-week intensive bootcamp provides participants with practical entrepreneurial skills, expert mentorship, and proven innovation tools to validate business ideas and prepare them for market entry.
The programme is offered free of charge, with all participation costs covered by UNDP.
Programme Overview
The Ignite Idea to Venture Bootcamp is a practical, hands-on entrepreneurship programme that guides participants through the process of refining and validating their business ideas.
Over four weeks, participants will develop their ventures using structured learning sessions, practical assignments, and customer discovery activities while receiving guidance from experienced entrepreneurship facilitators.
What Participants Will Learn
Throughout the programme, participants will gain practical skills in:
- Identifying business opportunities
- Customer discovery and market validation
- Business model development
- Startup ideation
- Venture design and refinement
- Preparing products or services for market entry
- Applying proven entrepreneurship frameworks
- Testing business assumptions through real customer feedback
Participants will actively work on developing their own venture ideas during the programme.
Programme Structure
The bootcamp runs for four weeks and includes:
- Two live online Microsoft Teams sessions each week
- Sessions held every Tuesday and Thursday
- One-hour live classes scheduled in the afternoon or early evening (4:00–5:00 PM)
- One to two hours of guided independent learning and practical activities each week
The programme combines live instruction with practical venture-building exercises designed to strengthen entrepreneurial skills.
Participation Requirements
Participants should:
- Have access to a smartphone or computer.
- Maintain reliable internet access throughout the programme.
- Attend the two mandatory live sessions each week.
- Complete weekly practical assignments and venture-building activities.
