PASS’SPORT is a continent-wide initiative developed jointly by Sport Impact, the Paris Nanterre University Foundation, and Trace Global, with the support of the French Development Agency (AFD). This pioneering programme is designed to enhance the skills and employability of youth and professionals working within Africa’s sport-for-development ecosystem. It seeks to leverage the power of sport as a driver for inclusive economic development, job creation, social cohesion, and sustainable progress across the continent.
Beyond skills development, PASS’SPORT also aims to foster new knowledge creation, promote innovative professional practices, and encourage stronger collaboration among sector stakeholders. The initiative’s guiding principle — CONNECT – LEARN – TRANSFORM — reflects its commitment to building bridges, deepening expertise, and enabling long-term change through sport.
Programme Structure
PASS’SPORT is built around two core components:
- A digital introductory track hosted on the Trace Academia app, providing certified modules that explore sport’s role in development and present emerging career pathways in the sports sector.
- In-person seminars tailored for professionals, featuring hands-on training, peer learning, and focused sessions on sport entrepreneurship, infrastructure management, and event planning. These in-person engagements are further supported by online modules and MOOCs to provide a blended, lasting learning experience.
Kigali Seminar: Sport & Entrepreneurship
The first in-person seminar is scheduled to take place in Kigali, Rwanda, just ahead of the 2025 UCI Road World Championships in September. This edition, themed "Sport & Entrepreneurship", highlights Rwanda’s rising profile as a hub for major sporting events and underlines the strategic importance of connecting these events with youth empowerment and enterprise development in the sports sector.
This immersive seminar invites professionals from the African sports ecosystem to participate in a rich learning experience that includes:
- Face-to-face sessions supported by curated online content
- Masterclasses led by experts, interactive workshops, and peer-based learning
- Case studies from across Africa showcasing innovative practices in sports
- Field visits to local organisations leading transformative work through sport
The ultimate objective is to foster innovation, nurture leadership, and enable participants to translate knowledge into meaningful impact within their communities.
Women are strongly encouraged to apply.
