Applications are now being accepted for the 2025 Acceleration Portfolio by the Dovetail Impact Foundation—an opportunity for African nonprofit organizations to access flexible funding and tailored capacity-building support.

The program is designed for smaller, locally-driven nonprofits working in the areas of health, education, justice, or livelihoods, with annual budgets below $500,000.

First launched in 2021, the Acceleration Portfolio was created to fill a critical funding gap for grassroots organizations. Those selected will receive customized guidance from leading sector experts, including Mighty Ally, IDinsight, RaiseUp, Spring Impact, and Vanreusel Ventures.

Dovetail Impact Foundation is focused on supporting organizations that are making a lasting impact in their communities. By backing promising nonprofits tackling global challenges, the foundation champions visionary leadership and scalable, mission-driven work.

Program Highlights:

• Flexible grant support to help organizations scale and strengthen operations

• Personalized coaching and workshops covering strategy, communications, financial planning, fundraising, and impact evaluation

• Direct access to expert advisors and a broader peer network

• Potential for ongoing partnerships and future inclusion in the Scale Portfolio or allied funding platforms

The overarching goal of this initiative is to help participating organizations sharpen their focus, expand their reach, and secure the resources needed to sustain their mission-driven efforts.

2025 Application Cycle Schedule:

• April 11 – May 12: Initial application period (Round One) is open

• Late May: Round One results shared; selected applicants invited to proceed to Round Two

• Mid to Late June: Finalist applications due and interviews for Round Two take place

• Late July: Final selection made; organizations chosen for the 2025 cohort are informed

• September: Program officially launches for the new cohort
