The Going Global Partnerships program is offering new funding through its Research Environments 2025–26 grants, aimed at enhancing collaboration and strengthening research ecosystems between the UK and select countries—Brazil, Morocco, Pakistan, and Peru.

Purpose of the Grants

This funding is intended to foster new partnerships or significantly advance existing ones between academic departments, research units, or institutions.

The goal is to support sustainable, long-term collaboration while enhancing research capacity at the partner institution.

Each funded project should contribute meaningfully to building the research infrastructure or capabilities of the partner country institution, while also laying the groundwork for lasting cooperation with UK counterparts.

UK institutions must be either:

• Accredited higher education institutions with degree-awarding status

• Not-for-profit research organizations or bodies

Partner institutions must be:

• Recognized higher education providers as defined locally

• Locally recognized not-for-profit research organizations

• Available funding: Between £25,000 and £40,000 per project

• Project duration: 12 months, starting in January 2026
