Applications are currently open for the 2024 Doc Society Climate Story Fund. The fund aims to back impactful storytelling and strategies worldwide that enable audiences to envision a just transition and motivates them to bring these visions to fruition. The fund provides grants of up to $150,000 for the completion of creative nonfiction projects and impact pilots for finished creative nonfiction and fiction projects. To be eligible, projects must align with climate themes, intend to implement impact activities, and adhere to specified timelines and budget requirements. The selection process prioritizes stories envisioning a just transition, centering on the most affected communities, promoting diversity, and exercising responsible practices when engaging participants and communities. The fund welcomes applicants and projects globally, supporting both new and established artists across various creative nonfiction mediums. Successful applicants are required to attend a virtual Impact Lab for strategic development and networking.
