Role Summary
The Senior Manager will be pivotal in evaluating and identifying scalable innovations that address urgent ecological issues. The role requires deep sectoral research to pinpoint promising technologies and methods capable of breaking through sustainability barriers across multiple domains—such as regenerative agriculture, decarbonized transport, ocean restoration, and green infrastructure.
Drawing on expert insights from the initiative’s global advisory network, the manager will conduct rigorous assessments, guide solution development, and track innovation trajectories. The ultimate aim is to spotlight and support the most promising tools to accelerate planetary repair.

Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate current and newly identified innovations using defined environmental and technical criteria.
- Lead research efforts into specific environmental challenges, highlighting gaps and scalable opportunities.
- Build and maintain partnerships with sector experts to deepen understanding of emerging and high-impact innovations.
- Utilize data insights to shape strategic directions, inform selection processes, and contribute to long-term planning.
- Enhance the initiative’s solution database by incorporating insights from assessments, partners, and prize-related activities.
- Facilitate the connection between promising innovations and support opportunities across The Earthshot Prize ecosystem.

Experience evaluating various innovation types (e.g., from start-ups, non-profits, public sector initiatives), ideally gained through roles in accelerators, funding bodies, or incubators.
Subject matter expertise in at least one core area relevant to the Prize (e.g., climate, biodiversity, marine ecosystems).
Academic background in a STEM discipline (Bachelor’s or Master’s), or equivalent professional experience.
Proficiency in engaging with multidisciplinary experts to distill actionable insights.
Competence in handling both qualitative and quantitative datasets.
Strong communication skills for presenting research findings and strategic insights.
Proactive, experimental, and collaborative mindset, well-suited for a dynamic, mission-driven work environment.
